Frequently Asked Questions
Cyber Essentials is a self-assessment completed by you, after which, a qualified assessor reviews and marks your answers. Cyber Essentials Plus goes further: a certified body, such as Delta, checks your systems to ensure the security measures are properly in place, giving you a higher level of assurance.
Cyber Essentials must be completed with 6 months. Cyber Essentials Plus must be completed within 3 calendar months of obtaining Cyber Essentials. If any remediation is identified during your assessment, you have 30 days to address these, whilst remaining within the 3 calendar month window. In order to pass, you must complete any remediation within the given period; otherwise, the process must be restarted.
No, the scope must match your Cyber Essentials certificate however you are allowed justifiable changes e.g. number of devices or updates to Operating Systems.
If any remediations are required, you have 30 days to address these, whilst remaining within your initial 3 calendar month window. If you fail to remediate within the given time period, you will be required to restart the Cyber Essentials process.
Yes, as long as the certificate was issued within the last 3 months.
We recommend a 2-3 week cycle to complete the process, however this can be expedited depending upon your internal prioritisation and our auditor availability. It is possible to complete the process same day.
Cyber Essentials Plus includes a pre-assessment call with an assessor to talk you through the process, a detailed step-by-step audit guide, demonstration videos on capturing evidence, pre-assessment scans, remediation guidance and access to your assessor at any stage.
